PIPETTE TIPS

Pipette tips are used by the billion world-wide by many thousands of scientists. They are one of the most used of laboratory consumables and come in many shapes and sizes. With several hundred sizes, designs and packaging formats, the choice is enormous and often confusing.

All manufacturers and Biohit is no exception, can only guarantee their published pipette specifications using the manufacturers tips. In the quality control and initial factory calibration of the pipette, only these tips are used. It is therefore equally important to acknowledge there may be differences in the performance of a pipette using a different manufacturers tips.

There are a  number of popular brands of pipette, including Biohit, that have pipette tips designed to fit them. The size and shape of these third party tips often differ in their fit to the pipettes' tip cone and the volume of fluid which these tips can accept without contaminating the tip cone.

Biohit tips like other many manufacturers are aware that the actual performance of the quality tips is more than adequate for many protocols and mixing and matching of tips and pipettes happens in most laboratories. Biohit provides tip fit charts for all its pipettes and tips, available as a download pdf.

Biohit provides tip to cover most applications, from micro-volume to macro-volume, in loose, bulk, racked, sterile, non-sterile, filtered and refill formats. All these products can be found through the menu items to the left of this page.
