Dispenser tips are available from 01.ml to 50ml for both of these products, sterile and non-sterile and both products are supplied with adaptors for the larger volume tips.

A positive displacement pipette is a pipette where the aspirate and dispense actions are translated into fluid dispense through use of syringe mechanism. This syringe is usually disposable and the plunger action is controlled by the pipette for accuracy.

Positive displacement pipettes are often used in laboratories for many reasons, which involve the integrity or properties of the fluid under investigation or use. For example a very viscous fluid cannot be easily dispensed accurately with air displacement pipettes, but a syringe mechanism where the lunger is in contact with the fluid and is forced out without air involvement is ideal.

Sterile fluids where there  danger of cross contamination may see the us of a positive displacement pipette, although filter tips are more commonly used for reasons of economy. Aggressive fluid such as some acids with corrosive vapours use glass syringes in these devices to avoid corrosion of pipette pistons.
