PIPETTE CALIBRATION, REPAIR AND SERVICE

Pipette Calibration repair and service is an essential part of a pipettes life. There are no fixed guidelines for how often a pipette should be checked or calibrated and is at the discretion of the laboratory. It is clear however that intensively used precision tools will invariably see wear and tear. How the pipette is used will determine how often the unit's may need checking.

A pipette user may notice a discrepancy in test results, a drip forming on a tip or residual fluid within the tip after blow out. These are examples of problems that may occur with pipettes that are not regularly checked and serviced. There are also potential hidden problems, such as corroded pistons or contaminated tip cones that could cross contaminate samples.
